China, the amazing country and the greatest economy growth zone in history, on average more then 9 % per year already for the last 3 decennia’s. It is now official that China has passed Japan as the second largest economy in the world. According to analysts, if China keeps on growing in the current speed, it will have in 10 years time a similar size economy compared to the number one today, the United States. With the enormous population of 1.3 billion people, it has also a fantastic domestic market potential, especially now more and more people start to enjoy the ability to buy luxury goods.

Due to the world economy recession, export activity from China has been affected of course, but by focussing and stimulating growth in its domestic market via fast implemented government stimulus programs ($ 600 billion !), it can be stated that for China the recession is already to its end since early 2009. Because of the growing group of consumers that are now able to spend their money on more luxury goods, Chinese retail spending has increased by 17 % last year. Especially this year 2011, expanding the domestic spending will get high priority on the political agenda. The challenge for China is mainly how to control the growth and prevent an overheated situation, rather then finding solutions how to come out and stay out of recession, like in the US and Europe. It looks that China is one of the few countries that is leading the world out of the current crisis.
