China, third luxury market in the World, behind the US and Japan, is hosting over 500.000 millionaires (US Dollars) today. And this group of people is growing steadily, a prime target for luxury brands (jewellery, cars, clothing, watches, etc.) that are already represented, like Dior, Cartier, Louis Vuitton, Porsche, Ferrari, Bentley….Still in its initial phase, the luxury market is experiencing significant development.

Though Yachting culture has never really been recognised in China, it is expected that this will change soon. Infrastructure, to enable enjoying being on a yacht, is developing quickly, many Marina’s are under construction, often supported by government funding.

The Shanghai Boat Show 2011 clearly reflected this exciting trend. More and more exhibitors with increasingly professional image proofed that China is more ready then ever to start with its own domestic approach. Instead of a complete focus on export, the world economy crisis has forced this industry to look into the possibilities of its own market. With a potential beyond imagination, we are looking forward to witness this exciting new development.
